King of the hill!
We have started crate training by giving pups a small crate with the door off. It is too tall for pups to climb on top. I set the little step stool next to it and he figured how to get up on top. He was very proud of himself and stayed up there for a while. He had a rather unceremonious exit by just falling off.

Sleeping Beauties
Puppies can sleep in the strangest places and ways. This is a little step stool turned upside down. This little guy found this a perfect place to take a nap.

Potty pan
They can barely walk, but we introduce a potty litter pan early. They start using it right away and it helps to get them to move to a specific place to potty. Mom is not going to be cleaning them up much longer because we will start to introduce solid foods very soon.
Getting big!
We have now introduced a puppy nest and puppy potty pan. This is how we begin with potty training. They are starting to use it a bit. Puppies will be perfecting their potty training as time goes by. As you can see, they haven’t decided their new “nest” is for sleeping.
Peepers!
That is what we call it when we start to see the eyes open. This is a puppy whose eyes are almost all the way open at 15 days. The others are not far behind with most starting to open part way. Ears are still opening, as well.
2 weeks birthday
At 2 weeks, puppies still don’t have eyes open, but I expect to start seeing “peepers” by tomorrow. It takes a couple days for eyes and ears to open, and then life for pups really changes. Stay tuned . . . .
