Plastic measuring spoons on a plastic ring is a favorite toy. Today we got sets to send home with each of the pups. We have given them toys to play with and take home with them so they will have familiar items in their new homes.

7 weeks and posing for the camera
King of the hill!
We have started crate training by giving pups a small crate with the door off. It is too tall for pups to climb on top. I set the little step stool next to it and he figured how to get up on top. He was very proud of himself and stayed up there for a while. He had a rather unceremonious exit by just falling off.

Sleeping Beauties
Puppies can sleep in the strangest places and ways. This is a little step stool turned upside down. This little guy found this a perfect place to take a nap.

Potty pan
They can barely walk, but we introduce a potty litter pan early. They start using it right away and it helps to get them to move to a specific place to potty. Mom is not going to be cleaning them up much longer because we will start to introduce solid foods very soon.

Getting big!
We have now introduced a puppy nest and puppy potty pan. This is how we begin with potty training. They are starting to use it a bit. Puppies will be perfecting their potty training as time goes by. As you can see, they haven’t decided their new “nest” is for sleeping.
